Coy Purnell the only son of Mary and Benjamin would never become a believer nor practitioner of the faith his parents lived and taught. He would die in 1924, leaving both parents to have out lived both of their children. His death came at a very trying time for both parents, as the legal problems very escalating against the House of David, in which they had just lost a crucial legal appeal to a Federal district appellate court over a lower court unfavorable ruling that began the cascade of legal problems for both parents and their community.
